May Update
Another successful month for Laytown United SFC on the pitch with both our Under 10’s and Under 11’s making it through to their respective League Cup Semi-Finals. Our Under 16’s are making a late challenge for the NDSL Under 16’s Premier Division Title under the expert guidance of 2 of our most experienced coaches David Conroy and Cormac Butler.
Clean Up Day
Laytown United SFC had their annual clean up day around Laytown and Bettystown. Members of all ages showed up to give the roadways and beach the once over. As always it important for any community based club to give something back and we are grateful for the assistance of the RSA, An Taisce and MECA for their help on the day.
Coaches Corner
Darren Rowley – Under 11’s 2014/2015
As a parent who got involved with coaching as a way of spending more quality time with my own child I often find myself in conversation with other parents who say “I wish I do something like that” or “if only I had the time” or “I don’t think I’d make a good coach” and to that my reply is always the same, “You can do that, you are at every training session and match with your child so you do have time and nobody thinks they would make a good coach, that’s why we have training courses”. Looking at the great bunch of players I have now and given that we have been together for a number of years I’m thankful that I made the decision to step up.

Laytowntown United SFC under 8’s had their first write up in the Heralds Striker on November 18th 2013. A great action shot of Kyle Byrne along with all his team mates has really given the guys a boost.
Jack Lays It On The Line
Darren Rowley’s under 10’s had a fantastic game against Dingle United in the NDSL Under-10 League Cup Clash, unfortunately for Laytown United SFC Dingle would emerge the victors from this contest with a 1-0 win.
Meet the Beach Boys
Laytown United SFC featured recently in a national newspaper as a human interest story covering the fact that the club has no official home grounds despite desperate pleas to local officials and community leaders. On the back of nothing but broken promises Laytown United SFC is trying to find a home for 160+ children.
